Is it a story about the man on the bridge, the bank robber, Jack and Jim, or about anything and everything? Anxious People by Fredrik Backman is a book that layers many elements together, but with each page, the story unfolds. The book explores concepts of human behaviour, but not in an unfortunate way, rather with humour, with a lot of cosy and heartfelt moments.

This book perfectly delves into the psychology of people and how we tend to judge others on the basis of limited knowledge- instances that Jack does not care about his father, Roger being the bad guy, I won’t talk more about it, or I will spoil it for you.

The accidental hostage situation reminds us all about the luxuries in our lives and how humans can form strong relationships even in the strangest of situations. This book is about many things, when I say many, I mean Many- grief, hope, fear, love, but mainly about idiots. Fredrik Backman reminds us, “We survived today, and then tomorrow will come along.”

If you want to read a book about many things, this is a perfect fit for you.
